SOUTHERN CROSS DENTAL
TREATMENT REVIEW SERVICE
Southern Cross Dental’s team of clinical experts review the Invisalign treatment plan and provide guidance to the prescribing dentist.
Dentists will have their cases reviewed by a Southern Cross Dental clinical expert and submit their Invisalign cases through Southern Cross Dental.
Pre-course Module (Online)
Designed to prepare you for Theory 1, this online module defines basic orthodontic and aesthetic concepts and emphasises the importance of arch shape in crowding cases. It also gives you a thorough understanding of these essential principles before beginning the course.
The Pre-course module can take between 30 to 60 minutes to complete.
Theory 1 (Presentation)
We’ll instruct you on the recent changes in aesthetic dentistry and modern day patient expectations, before looking in detail at how to assess suitable cases and achieve predictable orthodontic movement using sequential aligners, together with impression taking, IPR and attachments. We also introduce ClinCheck® treatment planning software.
Your attendance is required for the full day. A typical day will start at 8am and finish at 5pm and includes breaks during the morning, lunch and afternoon. Catering is provided.
You must bring an approved patient* suitable for treatment along for a 60 minute appointment during this session (appointments are booked on a first come first serve basis and your patient is only required to attend for the 60 minute appointment). Perhaps a patient offered a financial incentive, or a friend or relative. You’ll then observe along with the other participants to assess all the attending patients.
We focus on the critical skills you need to achieve predictable outcomes, and allow you the rare opportunity to observe a multitude of cases simultaneously in a clinical setting. By the end of the session you’ll have mastered case assessment, impression taking, bite registrations, photographic records (taking intra oral and extra oral photos) and completing lab order forms and will also be able to start treating more patients.
Your attendance is required for the full day. A typical day will start at 8am and finish at 4:30pm and includes breaks during the morning, lunch and afternoon. Catering is provided.
*Refer to Protocol for Enrolment, Patient Selection.
This four-hour online session covers online ClinCheck treatment plan case reviews, troubleshooting and FAQs, and is critical for all participants as we examine each case treated during Clinical 1 using the ClinCheck Treatment Planning software*. This allows you to see how the theory of sequential aligners works in real time.
We’ll assess each case and you’ll learn how to manipulate the software, and develop a feel for how long each case will take, how space is created using expansion, IPR, proclination, extraction and distalisation. You’ll also monitor programming for IPR and composite attachment placement.
This webinar typically starts at 1pm EST and finishes at 5pm EST. You must have downloaded the ClinCheck Treatment Planning software* onto your PC (microphone and speakers required) before the start time.
*ClinCheck Treatment Planning Software is Windows based. Please ensure your PC is compatible.
Your case must be approved four weeks prior to attending and your patient must wear aligner one for two weeks prior to this session. During this session, under the expert guidance of the Southern Cross Dental team, you’ll fit your patient with bond attachments and carry out any required interproximal reduction (IPR) on one arch.
A typical day will start at 8am and finish at 4:30pm. Your patient will only need to attend for their 60 minute appointment time (appointments are booked on a first come first serve basis). Remember to bring along your dental assistant for this appointment. You will need to attend your 60 minute appointment with your patient and also observe another 2 cases (60 minutes per case).
Theory 2 (Presentation)
During this final session you’ll review the progress of the treatment of the current cases and discuss any problems you may have had.
You will also be provided updates on product and technology changes, and look at troubleshooting, predictable midcourse correction, refinements and retention – and review more complex cases and tooth movement.
Your attendance is required for the full day. A typical day will start at 9am and finish at 5pm and includes breaks during the morning, lunch and afternoon. Catering is provided.
